Step One By Steps : Abba For A New Generation
Hey, the group was still trying to find their niche and musical style which would explain why a British group would have a techno-line dancing track titled 5,6,7,8 among its tracks. Although they sounded nothing like Abba, the group still managed to produce decent, hot dance tracks which often landed in the top ten of the British pop charts. In fact their cover version of the Bee-Gees hit "Tragedy" landed in the 2nd spot of the UK charts. Their producers tried to create an album that sounded like "Abba on speed" and half succeeded. Though they did not possess the unique sound that Abba did, Steps had an original sound on their own.
One that was somewhat sccessfully established in their freshman album release which spawned other hits like their cover version of Bananarama's Last Thing On My Mind and also Better Best Forgotten.
This classical album has already become a topic for writing dissertation and placing a dissertation order online.
